Specifying List Columns

Many of the panels in Verizon Connect® Dispatch™ display information about routes and jobs as lists. The visibility of the columns of information in these lists is controlled by the column picker, which appears in the title bar of each column.

The columns displayed for unassigned and for assigned jobs in the Jobs List can be configured separately. You might, for example, want to show the Driver column for assigned jobs, but not for unassigned jobs (where there is, of course, not yet an assigned driver) but instead the Preferred Driver and Priority columns.

To indicate which columns you want to display and which you want to hide:

1.Click any column picker on the far right of a column title bar. The picker will appear as a downward-facing gray arrow:

2.Click Columns in the drop-down menu, and then select the name of every column you want to appear in the list.

The information shown under the columns for each list screen is described below:

Jobs List Columns
Daily Routes List Columns

Columns that display a time of day, for example 'Arrival Time' and 'Departure Time', show the time at the job location. To see this time converted to your current time zone (configured from Settings > User) hover your mouse over a time value. The selected time, converted to your own time zone and with the abbreviated name of your time zone, is shown in a tool tip below the mouse pointer.

The formatting of dates in columns and on tool-tips is determined by the region chosen in your platform user settings (such as 'US' or 'UK'), not the regional settings of your PC. To set this region, and therefore the date formatting you want to use, click your account name in the upper right corner of the screen, and then click Settings. In the Settings dialog box that opens, click the User tab and then specify your region from the Region drop-down menu. For example, select 'US' for MM/DD/YYYY date formats, or 'UK' for DD/MM/YYYY date formats.

Daily Route Columns

Column

Details

Route Name

The name of the route. Click to open the Edit Route dialog box.

Same Side Routing

The 'same side routing' status of this route. If there is an icon () in this column beside a route, the turn-by-turn directions of that route ensure that the vehicle approaches stops on the same side of the road as the stop entrance, preventing crossing the street and oncoming lanes of traffic. If there is no icon, the route will be generated without taking the side of the stop into consideration. Same side routing is configured on individual territories or vehicles, or globally from the Routing Defaults screen.

Driver

The name of the driver assigned to this route. Click to open the Edit Driver dialog box.

Vehicle

The name of the vehicle assigned to the route. Click to open the Edit Vehicle dialog box.

Cost

The estimated cost of the route. This is based on the length of the route, the cost of fuel (diesel or gas), the vehicle's fuel consumption figures, the duration of the shift, and the driver's hourly pay rate (both normal and overtime).

Duration

The estimated length of time that this route will take to complete, including time spent on site; typically in hours and minutes, or hours.

Distance

The total length of this route in the distance units configured; typically in miles or kilometers.

Jobs

The number of jobs on this route, not including the start location; typically a depot or driver's home.

Timezone

The time zone of the territory containing the route ("PST" or "EST", for example). If 'All Territories' is selected from the Territory Filter, the Timezone column is enabled automatically on both the Jobs List and the Routes List. If a specific territory is then selected, the two columns are automatically hidden.

Start Time

The date and time that the route is planned to begin.

Weight

The total weight of the load carried on this route (that is, the sum of the weight of all products that will be picked up and delivered on each job on the route). No calculations are carried out to subtract pick-ups from deliveries.

Volume

The total volume of the load carried on this route (that is, the sum of the volume of all products that will be picked up and delivered on each job on the route). No calculations are carried out to subtract pick-ups from deliveries.

Weight Utilization

This column includes a bar graph that indicates the percentage of the vehicle's weight capacity required by the route. When the route load exceeds 79% of the vehicle's weight capacity, this graph is colored orange. When it exceeds 100% of the vehicle's weight capacity, the graph is colored red. When decimal values are used in your vehicle weight capacities, these are rounded up or down to the nearest whole number (for example a total delivery of 10.5 units on a route assigned to a vehicle with a capacity of 100 units will be shown as a load of 11% in the graph).

Volume Utilization

This column includes a bar graph that indicates the percentage of the vehicle's volume capacity required by the route. When the route load exceeds 79% of the vehicle's volume capacity, this graph is colored orange. When it exceeds 100% of the vehicle's volume capacity, the graph is colored red. When decimal values are used in your vehicle volume capacities, these are rounded up or down to the nearest whole number (for example a total delivery of 10.5 units on a route assigned to a vehicle with a capacity of 100 units will be shown as a load of 11% in the graph).

Custom Capacity Metrics

Capacity limits that you have defined, if any, are added as additional selectable columns.
