Configuring Custom Job Properties

In addition to adding tags and notes to jobs, you can also specify global custom properties such as land areas or customer types, and goods or equipment that might be needed at a job location (other than the existing vehicle and driver requirements).

Custom job properties can also be imported using the format job.custom.[custom property name].

These properties are typically provided by imports from Verizon Connect® Data Exchange™; and Verizon Connect® Dispatch™ must be correctly configured to allow these values to be shown (and to become useful) in the user interface. Once these custom properties have been added, they are used to filter and sort the Jobs List.

If you create new custom job properties, as described in the procedure below, Dispatch must be re-started by closing and then re-opening the Dispatch tab before you can use them.

To configure custom properties for your jobs:

1.Click the logged account name in the upper right corner of the Verizon Connect platform interface to open the settings menu:

 
2.Click the Settings button. The Settings dialog box opens:

 
3.Select the Jobs & Routes tab on the left menu:

 
4.Scroll to the Custom Job Properties area near the bottom of the tab. Click the field containing the text "Click to add Custom Property" with your mouse, and then type the name of the custom property you want to make available to all of your jobs. Click outside the box, and the new property is added as a gray box. Repeat this process for as many properties as you require. To remove a property, click the "x" button to the right of the property's name.

 
5.Click the Save button and then re-start Dispatch by closing the Dispatch tab and then re-opening it. Any custom job properties that have been configured are added to the list of available column on the Jobs List, and any columns that are set to visible can be sorted and filtered. These custom columns, and the values configured for them, can be seen on the Custom Properties tab of the Create Job and Edit Job dialog boxes. This tab is only available in suitably configured accounts, and is typically read-only (but might be editable for administrator-level accounts).
