Hardware Page

The Hardware page lets you view or edit information about the unit that is installed in the vehicle:

System ID:

The internal identifier of the unit in the vehicle.

Last Report:

The time and date of the last report the server received from the vehicle.

ESN:

The electronic serial number (the serial number of the hardware unit in the vehicle).

Has Ignition

Indicate if the vehicle's ignition status relies on an ignition sensor. When Yes is selected, the ignition status of the vehicle is used when calculating movement. When No is selected, vehicle movement is based on the speed and distance, based on the values set in the settings dialog box. Even if a vehicle has an ignition sensor, it is sometimes useful to set this value to No: for example, if the vehicle is being towed.

Has Speed

Indicate if the unit installed in the vehicle includes speed as part of its reports. This is typically set when the unit is installed and should not normally need to be changed, except, for example, when a vehicle has broken down and is being towed.

Install Type

The assigned Install Type. This value is set using the Fleets & Teams or Hierarchy screen. This feature is not available in all versions.

Devices:

If your account does not include support for Install types, click Devices for a list of devices that may be connected to the unit. Select or clear the check boxes for each possible device to indicate which devices are in use.

Inputs:

If your account does not include support for Install types, click Inputs for a list of digital and analog inputs that can be connected to the unit. For each input in the list, click it to configure the input.

Before you can configure inputs, the device that provides those inputs must be connected using the Devices list.

Outputs:

Click this link for a list of outputs (signals that can be sent to control devices on the vehicle) that can be connected to the unit. For each output in the list, click it to configure the output.
