Mobile Page

mobile tab

The Mobile page lets you enter configuration information for drivers who are equipped with the Verizon Connect® WorkPlan™ mobile application. This information must be entered before you can take advantage of hours-of-service reports or mobile messaging. All or some of the following driver mobile options may be available, depending upon your account configuration.

Note that many of the features below include the option "Use Account Default (Default Value)"; for example, Use Account Default (English - US). This option selects the global default value configured for that setting by the account administrator (specified by clicking the signed-in account name in the upper right corner of the platform interface to open the settings menu, clicking Settings, then selecting the Mobile Defaults tab).

If the global value is changed at any time, the individual driver accounts that use these default values are updated to reflect this new setting when the drivers sign in again.

If your account includes support for the Hierarchy, mobile settings for drivers who have been assigned to a vehicle can also be configured from the Hierarchy interface. Select the node that contains the driver, choose the Drivers tab from the right panel, highlight the driver in the list and click Edit. The Edit Driver dialog box opens, allowing you to edit their account settings.

If the "driver" you are editing is actually a mechanic, you also need to assign the driver a tag with the name "mechanic" and ensure that the driver's base location (on the details page) is the same as the base location for the vehicles this mechanic is servicing.

Change the default application language. Open to display a list of available languages.

Country

GPS Tracking

Specify whether location tracking using the mobile web device (for example, smart phone or tablet) is on or off. Turn this setting off, if the mobile user is using WorkPlan as an ELD, or if the vehicle is equipped with a tracking hardware unit, so that the GPS points do not interfere with the points saved from the hardware unit.

Show Vehicle Selection At Login

Specify if drivers will be asked to select a vehicle immediately after signing in to their device, if not already assigned. If set to "Off", the Show Vehicle Selection On Home Screen option should be turned "On".

Show Vehicle Selection On Home Screen

Specify if the Vehicle button will be shown on the home screen, allowing drivers to unassign themselves from their current vehicle or switch their assigned vehicle to another vehicle. If set to "Off", the Show Vehicle Selection At Login option should be set to "On".

Must Unassign Vehicle At Logout

Specify if the currently-assigned vehicle is automatically unassigned from the driver when signing out. When set to "Off", the vehicle is not unassigned, which is useful when drivers use features that do not involve driving or Job-related activities, such as reviewing scores in Verizon Connect® Coach™.

Jobs

Specify whether Jobs are enabled or disabled in the application for this driver. When enabled, the Jobs menu option is available from the Home screen.

Driver Initiated Status

Specify if the status of a job is updated when a driver marks a job as Complete. When set to "On", drivers need to mark a job as Complete for the job's status to be updated. When set to "Off", jobs are automatically set to Complete when the Jobs Monitor detects that the driver's assigned vehicle has left the job.

HOS Alert Prior to Violation

Logout Status Change

Specify if the driver's status is automatically set to Off Duty when the driver logs out. When set to "Off", signing out has no effect on the driver's status (it remains on the last status that was set).

Allow Switch from Off Duty to Driving

Specify if the driver can manually change status from Off Duty to Driving. When set to "Off", this status change only occurs when the device detects movement.

Show Sensor Failures

Enable or disable the display of a sensor status message. When set to "On", a Sensor indicator is displayed in the lower right corner of the Hours of Service home screen. Following initialization, the background of this indicator text changes to reflect a pass/fail device sensor status (green background color for a pass, red background color if a fault is detected). Currently this check is for GPS quality/lock for vehicles not equipped with VaaH, or poor data quality for vehicles equipped with VaaH.

Can Use Non-CDL Short-Haul Exemption

Enable or disable the ability to use the non-CDL short-haul exemption within WorkPlan. If enabled, the driver can enable or disable the non-CDL short-haul exemption, which applies different HOS rules, if drivers drive a vehicle that does not require a commercial drivers license, stay within a 150 air-mile radius of a specific location and return to that location after each shift.
