How to Specify What Information the Dashboard Displays

There are a number of ways you can specify what data the dashboard displays. You can specify:

The time period to summarize.
The frequency of points on trend graphs.
The categories of vehicles to analyze.
The fleet to analyze.

How to Specify the Time Period

To specify the time period that the dashboard summarizes:

1.Enter the first day of the time period in the first date picker on the toolbar.
2.Enter the last day of the time period in the second date picker on the toolbar.

The dates you enter might be automatically changed by setting the frequency of points on trend graphs.

How to Specify the Frequency of Points on Trend Graphs

To specify the frequency of points on trend graphs:

1.Move to one of the pages displaying a trend graph (any page other than the first).
2.Select a frequency from the drop-down list on the toolbar.

The dashboard limits the frequencies you can select based on the length of the time period you are analyzing:

To set this frequency:

The time period must be:

Daily

2 to 93 days

Weekly

2 weeks to 1 year

Monthly

2 months to 2 years

Quarterly

6 months or more

When you select a frequency other than Daily, the dashboard adjusts the time period boundaries so that they occur at natural boundary points for that frequency. For example, changing the frequency to Weekly causes the start date to change to the nearest Sunday and the end date to change to the nearest Saturday.

How to Specify the Categories of Vehicles to Include

To specify which categories of vehicles contribute to the counts of events:

1.Select Vehicle Categories from the dashboard toolbar.
2.In the Vehicle Categories dialog box, select the check boxes for any category you want to include. To include all categories, select the Select All check box.
3.Clear the check boxes for any categories you do not want to include.
4.Select OK.

How to Specify the Fleet to Analyze

The dashboard always displays the fleet that is associated with a node in the hierarchy. Information is broken down by sub-fleets that are associated with the child nodes of that node.

To display information about a sub-fleet:

1.Double-click the name of the sub-fleet (the name of the hierarchy node) that you want to focus on.

If you are in the main page of the dashboard, these names appear as labels at the left of each row.
If you are looking at a trend graph, these names appear on the legend in the upper right corner of the graph.

2.Repeat Step 1 to navigate through the levels of the hierarchy until you reach the fleet you want to examine.

To display information about a parent fleet:

From the main page of the dashboard, select the fleet in the display of folders that opens in the upper left corner of the grid.
From the trend graph page, select the back arrow from the lower left corner of the graph.
