What's New?

Hours of Service is an optional module within WorkPlan. You must have the appropriate option enabled in your account to use Hours of Service. WorkPlan and Hours of Service use separate releases and you can upgrade them independently. Some Hours of Service releases are dependent on a specific WorkPlan version.

Hours of Service v3.15

New Features and Enhancements

Changed the default rule set when crossing the border from Canada to the USA for the first time to Federal 70.
Updated the app to prompt users to review any unidentified driving events when the app closes down unexpectedly.
Renamed the Overview screen to Exemptions.
Made general usability, stability, and performance improvements to unidentified driving, carrier edits, Personal Conveyance mode, and sub statuses.

Modified Inspector mode to use the appropriate distance units depending on whether you are using a US or Canadian rule set.
Modified Inspector mode to show 15 days of historic data and no sharing option, when using a Canadian rule set. When you are using a US rule set, the Inspector mode shows 8 days of historic data and inspectors can share your logs with the FMCSA.
Reduced the time period for displaying carrier edits and unidentified driving events to 5 weeks.

Improved the Review Events screen so that it now displays the number of unidentified driving events and the number of carrier edits.

Changed Hours of Service to use engine speed to detect whether a vehicle is in motion or not. For non-ELD compliant users it is still possible to detect vehicle motion using GPS, but engine speed is used in preference.
Improved the recording of HOS events, such as engine on and off, vehicle motion detection, status changes and violations.
Added an Inspector mode that can be used by road side inspectors to view HOS logs and other details in a simplified, read-only interface.

Moved the Kiosk Settings from the Info screen to the Actions menu on the HOS Status screen. (Applicable only to standalone versions of Hours of Service running in a web browser.)
Modified Hours of Service to make it possible for users (usually administrators) to sign HOS logs without having a vehicle assigned.
