When you, or any customer, import a custom report template generated using the report designer into the Verizon Connect platform, the default output format of any reports created using this template (for example PDF or HTML) is not specified from the standard report format location (that is, not by opening the Settings > Reports tab in the platform and then choosing an option from the 'Default Report Format' section). Instead, the default format of these reports is controlled from the Manage Reports screen, accessed from the Reports section of the main platform menu:
Once this screen is open, click the Custom Templates tab and select the report from the list, and then click the Options button.
In the Options dialog box that opens, choose the allowed report formats, and the default report format, and then click Save.
If a default output format is not specified for a custom report, it will automatically default to HTML, then PDF, and then Excel, in that order. If 'Excel' is chosen as the default output, and your report template includes any combination of Excel, XLS or XLSX, the platform will choose the value picked for XLS/XLSX over 'Excel'.
